Food, Nutrition and Exercise

It is possible to shed those extra pounds, but it won't happen without some changes in your current diet and lifestyle. You can't eat sugary, fatty foods and neglect any sort of physical activity and still expect to lose weight.

You should take some time to research proper food nutrition. This will help you learn which foods are good choices, which ones will help you lose weight, and which foods you should have sparingly or skip altogether. That doesn't mean you can't treat yourself every so often. A small splurge can provide a great deal in terms of your motivation, outlook, and metabolism. If you try to be too regimented, you will end up cheating on your diet and feeling badly for it, thereby sabotaging any real progress in your weight loss attempts.

What's for Dinner?
Nutritional food includes all varieties of fruits, veggies, lean protein sources like meats and fish, and even some dairy. If most of your food nutrition is derived from those areas, and you add a regular exercise routine, you'll begin to notice a decrease in your weight in no time. Take time to learn about food nutrition. This will enable you to make better food nutrition choices when you are not cooking for yourself; in order to choose properly at a restaurant or other location you need to learn what to eat and what to avoid.

Physical Activity
The only way to lose weight is to burn more calories than you eat. Food gives calories to your body, which then transforms it to fuel that it uses to run. In the same way that vehicles use gas, your body needs food to enable it to operate properly and run efficiently. Eating too much fat and sugar gives your body too much energy, which is then turned to fat if it is not worked off somehow. That's where exercise comes in. The healthiest way to lose weight is to drop one or two pounds a week, and light to moderate exercise about four to five times a week for thirty minutes is a great way to do this.

Be Patient
Losing weight is a gradual process. It may seem like you gain it quicker than you lose it, but the reality is that you did not become overweight overnight, and you will not reach your goal weight overnight, either. It takes time to develop new habits in areas like food, nutrition, and exercise. You need to reduce stress and increase physical activity levels. If you do this and remain consistent in these endeavors, you will find that the weight will begin to come off. Patience and consistency are key factors of healthy weight loss.
